A legally constituted park is a PROTECTED AREA, that is, an area of ??the territory that has relevant natural characteristics, legally established by the government and where adequate guarantees are applied aiming at its protection.
All parks have, as their main objective, the preservation of ecosystems of great ecological relevance and scenic beauty, enabling scientific research to be carried out and the development of activities involving environmental education, environmental interpretation, recreation and ecological tourism
