IMPACTS AND CONFLICTS IN THE PARK AND REGION
WATER
The water in this park is precious, but the fire in the vegetation is an agent of great negative impact on it, as it contributes to the loss of protection of the soil and the banks of watercourses. When rain falls on bare ground, sediments are carried into streams, causing silting and alteration of water quality.
SOIL
This park is an incredible opportunity for leisure in a natural environment. Soil loss and consequent erosion due to the removal of vegetation cover in accesses, subdivisions and mined areas can severely compromise the integrity of some environments or species present here, as well as connectivity with other areas. The garbage left here is also a source of pollution and impact.
AIR
As it is a protected area surrounded by urban and industrial environments, the air quality of the park can be easily compromised. Dust from mining, smoke from vehicles and industries are a permanent conflict. The implementation of subdivisions and buildings in the region surroundings can also be a source of air pollution, as well as burning garbage and fires.
PLANTS AND ANIMALS
The species present here are a testimony to the richness of this region. The collection of plants and wild animals to sell illegally, the attack of domestic animals on the native fauna, the trampling of wild animals, the action of fire, the loss of connectivity between internal and external environments of the park, constitute some of the negative impacts on the biodiversity of this protected area.
