IMPACTS AND CONFLICTS IN THE PARK AND REGION

Rola-Moça Mountains State Park is an urban protected area. Around it, the lands are occupied by residential, commercial, industries, mining, provision of services etc. Urban pressure is rapidly eliminating natural areas and creating a contrast between this preserved area and its surroundings.

There are many pressures for new subdivisions, mining, opening and paving of roads, population density, among others.

Attention, planning and care are needed to reconcile the conservation of natural resources in this protected area with the presence of neighbors, visitors, activities carried out in the neighborhood, among others.

Many conflicts and impacts are already being felt here in the park. See below for some examples.
